Greens Sda Church In Barbados: History,Facts, & Services

Greens SDA Church in Barbados is a Seventh-day Adventist church located in the parish of St. Phillip. Founded in 1961, Greens SDA Church is the first Seventh-day Adventist Church on the entire island of Barbados. The church is a part of the Inter-America West Bermuda Islands Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and runs services on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. It is one of the best churches in Barbados which you must visit.

History:

The church was originally a membership of just 8 people, worshiping in the home of Brother ‘Dusty’ Small. As membership increased, a mission school and later a church building were built at Greens. The church building was damaged by Hurricane MARIA and a new church building was opened for Worship in May of 2000. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.

Greens SDA Church has been witness to many firsts for Adventism in Barbados, before Greens was established Adventists had to meet corporately in various parishioners’ homes. Greens is home to The Coconut Praise Band, a youth-run Gospel Music Band founded by Orin Jackman.
Services:

The church has various Sabbath School activities and weekly worship services, as well as various Christian outreach programs which include Bible studies, medical ministries, prayer meetings and camps. Greens hosts regular sports days, public lectures and seminars and outreach luncheons. In addition, Greens offers a variety of individual, family and youth counseling services.This beautiful church in Barbados has made a lot of significance in the past.
