Brief History:
is a mosque located in the town of Chapainawabganj, in Bangladesh. This mosque is one of the holiest mosques in Bangladesh and has a large population of devotees from all over the country. It was built in 1667 AD by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in honour of his granddaughter sona bai. The mosque has a huge, domed roof with five arched gates. It has a large courtyard where people can gather for prayers and remembrance of the divine. The mosque is renowned for its splendid architecture and has become a popular place of worship for Muslims all over Bangladesh. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.

The Sona Masjid is a 17th century mosque located in Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh. It was built between 1647 and 1652 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Shah Shuja, Subedar of Bengal. The mosque is noted for its 5 elegant domes, 4 corner towers, and tall single minaret. Its three entrances lead to a large prayer hall, where a sanctum or mihrab stands at the east end. The mosque's interior features some fine terra cotta ornamentation. The roof of the mosque is made of heavy timber frame and supported by 4 giant masonry pillars in the prayer hall. The exterior is composed of terracotta with floral patterns, and it is believed to have once been gilded. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
