Shripur Jame Mosque is an ancient building located in the district of Gazipur. It is one of the oldest mosques in Bangladesh, and is believed to have been built in the time of Sultan Sulaiman Khan (1493-1519 A.D). The exact details of the mosque’s history are unknown, but some scholars believe that it was originally built during the Delhi Sultanate, which ruled from 1206 to 1526. The mosque is architectural wonder and its five arches are the main attraction. The original mosque was built in 1200 sq. ft. and it was later extended the area to its present size of 1400 sq. ft. The mosque has an additional row of apartments, which were added in order to accommodate more worshippers.
