Sarishabari Jame Mosque is a famous historical and religious monument situated at Sarishabari Village of Jamalpur district in Bangladesh. It has been built in 15th century by a famous Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Ismail Hossaini, which makes it to have the title of the oldest mosque in Bangladesh. The mosque is a magnificent building and its architecture consists of intricate designs of bricks, terracotta and carving. It also has a unique calligraphic inscriptions in Arabic language which are composed by famous artist Liton Mahmud. The mosque has four different doors at each four side of the building which makes it to have a rectangular shape. There is also a graveyard in front of the mosque where the tombs of the saint Hazrat Shah Ismail Hossaini, his spiritual guide Pir Fazlur Rahman and few other saints are laid. The Sarishabari Jame Mosque is a mosque located in Sarishabari Upazila, Jamalpur, Bangladesh. It is an exemplary example of early Bengali architecture, which was popularized during the Sultanate period. The mosque was built in the 15th century during the reign of Sultan Raja Ganesha. The mosque is a single-domed structure, supported by four octagonal corner towers. The dome is decorated with large terracotta plaques featuring floral and geometric designs. The walls of the structure are also decorated with ornamental terracotta tiles and floral designs. Inside, the mosque is decorated with ornate Islamic calligraphy. The entrance has a single row of arches supported by four pillars, and the interior walls are further decorated with Quranic inscriptions. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
