: Mohanganj Jame Mosque, Netrokona in Bangladesh is one of the oldest mosques in Bangladesh. It is believed to have been built sometime in the eleventh or twelfth century, making it one of the oldest surviving mosques in the country. The mosque is a two-storied structure and is made out of brick and mortar. It has three large domes on the front and ten minarets at the rear. The Mohanganj Jame Mosque in Netrokona, Bangladesh is a 16th-century mosque of Mughal-style architecture. The mosque has a single-domed structure, with the entrance gate made of baked brick. The walls of the mosque are adorned with attractive terracotta plaques. The mihrab (prayer niche in the wall pointing towards Mecca) is decorated with stone and brick ornamentation. The outer walls are also decorated with floriated designs. Apart from that, the mosque has a few stone carvings. The mosque also has five mihrabs and seven arched open entrances. The mosque has an open courtyard surrounded by a covered verandah, with four octagonal turrets supporting the roof dome. The roof dome is made of terracotta and is patchy due to deterioration. The mosque has four 25 feet (7.6 m) corner towers, which provide access to the upper floors. There is also a minaret on one of the towers. The mosque is surrounded by a large pond, which is said to have been made by Sultan Mahabub, the builder of the mosque. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
