: Ullapara Jame Mosque, located in the district of Sirajganj in Bangladesh, is one of the oldest mosques in the country built in 1533 during the reign of Sultan Hussain Shah. It is said to be the birthplace of the father of Bengal literature, Ahmedullah Shah. The mosque was initially built with thatched roofs and kash-wood pillars. Later on, new renovations occurred in 1699 and 1831 in order to bring it back to its original form. The mosque has a central dome which is decorated with nineteenth century tiles and has four towers each facing east, west, north and south. The Ullapara Jame Mosque in Sirajganj, Bangladesh was built in 1657 during the Mughal period. It features a rectangular single-domed plan with three mihrabs and a spacious courtyard. The mosque is built using local material. Structurally, it is composed of plastered brickwork, with the entire façade of the prayer hall and domes made of terracotta. The arched entrance to the main prayer hall is highly decorated with terracotta plaques, geometrical and foliate designs, floral motifs and glazed tiles. Inside the prayer hall, the mihrabs are decorated with inscriptions revealing the year of construction (1069 Hijri). The side walls are also decorated with floral decorations, terracotta plaques and polychrome glazed tiles. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
