The mosque was designed in a style similar to the famous Somapura Mahavihara and has highly decorated walls and terracotta carvings. An area of 1.00 acres of land was granted to the mosque when it was established and it is now one of the most visited mosques in the country due to its elaborate carvings and paintings. Architecture:

The Tungipara Jame Mosque in Gopalganj, Bangladesh, is an important example of Bengalian Mosque architecture. The rectangular building is composed of an eastern façade, western façade, squinches pier, pendentives and a series of domes. The façade of the building is characterized by a large central entrance and flanking semi-octagonal projecting towers. These towers have a staircase inside and the towers have two balconies. The mihrab and minbar are set in an alcove with simple decoration. The interior of the mosque is decorated with arabesque patterned stucco reliefs. The inside of the mosque is comprised of a series of three domes, which rise from squinches or pendentives. The interior of the building is also composed of two rows of three pointed arches. The main dome of the mosque is large and has a bulbous finial. Additionally, the mosque has two other domes just below the main dome. The exterior of the mosque is mainly composed of a series of vertical bands and pilasters, which divide the façade into panels. The eastern façade has three entrances and seven vertical bands, while the western façade has two entrances and five vertical bands. The roof of the mosque is covered with terracotta tiles and is decorated with ornamental designs. The exterior walls of the mosque are also decorated with floral motifs and Quranic verses. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
