Shakhari Bazar Jame Mosque is a historic mosque located in the Shakhari Bazar neighbourhood of Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the oldest and most famous mosques in the region, having been built in 1679 by Shuja Khan, the Mughal governor of Dhaka. Constructed mainly in the traditional Mughal style, the mosque is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mosque is built around a large courtyard and features a large main prayer hall with several smaller chambers and a large dome above. It is also notable for its intricate terracotta decoration, which covers the entire exterior, and features a variety of motifs including floral patterns and Koranic verses.
