Brief History:
The Terokhada Jame Mosque in Bangladesh is one of the oldest and most famous mosques in Khulna, a city located in the Khulna district in Bangladesh. It was built in 1574 A.D. in the Mughal style of architecture. One of the most iconic features of the mosque is its unique sandstone sculpture of two sheets of plants. Inside the main chamber of the mosque, there are two tombs and several Madrasahs. The mosque also houses a holy water tank, where pilgrims wash before prayer. The mosque is a popular pilgrimage site for both locals and tourists, and it is a symbol of Baksha's culture and heritage. It is one of the most famous mosque in Bangladesh which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Terokhada Jame Mosque in Khulna, Bangladesh is an impressive example of traditional architecture. It is comprised of a large central prayer hall, a side prayer hall, a restored three-door entrance, and a wingspan mosque. The central prayer hall is built of brick and is square in design. The side prayer hall is constructed in a similar fashion and also serves as a library for Islamic studies. A restored three-door entrance leads visitors to the main prayer hall which also houses a mihrab (altar) and a minbar (pulpit). The wingspan mosque features four arches with a fountain located within the central courtyard. The interior features a marble floor, exquisite tile and plaster work, and a large carved wooden pulpit. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Travel Information:
The Terokhada Jame Mosque is located in the district of Khulna in Bangladesh. It is located around 17 kilometers away from the city center. To reach the mosque, travelers can take the Matabanga-Terokhada road by bus. Buses regularly ply from the Khulna bus terminal to Terokhada and the journey time is around 45 minutes. There are also local auto rickshaws, which can be hired from many spots in Khulna to reach the mosque. beautiful masjid.
