: Jhikargachha Jame Mosque is an ancient mosque located at Jhikargachha in the district of Jessore in Bangladesh. The mosque was built in the 16th century and the architectural style is Mughal. The mosque has two large minarets and four small minarets, and is said to be one of the largest mosques in Bangladesh. It is a popular site for pilgrims and tourists alike. The Jhikargachha Jame Mosque is a historical monument, located in Jhikargachha Upazila, Jessore district of Bangladesh. Built in 1592, the mosque is among the earliest Mughal-style monuments in the country. It has a single large domed mosque which stands on a tall plinth. The main entrance of the mosque is decorated with arched doors and terracotta plaques. Inside, the mosque is divided into the three rooms, with small ancillary chambers on the east and west sides. The interior is finished in a mixture of stucco and terracotta floral motifs. The mihrab is decorated with bold inscription in Persian, revealing the date of constructions. The walls of the mosque are decorated with intricate carvings in geometric designs and are enclosed by slender minarets. The roof is made of brick and is supported by four octagonal pillars. The mosque also contains a single large clay water cistern, known as a hauz. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
