Brief History:
The Gakh or Qazax Central Mosque is located in Gakh, Azerbaijan and celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2018. It is one of the oldest and most important religious and cultural sites in Azerbaijan. Built in 1768, the mosque was constructed as a place where Persian-influenced Shii Islam came to the region while the Ottomans ruled over much of what is now known as modern-day Azerbaijan. The building is constructed of white limestone, and its minaret is in the traditional architectural style with a vertical appearance and four balconies. The interior of the mosque is decorated with attention to detail, including with Islamic calligraphy, faience, marbling, and floral and geometric designs. The mosque is a popular site for visitors due to its history, unique design, and location. It is one of the most famous mosque in Azerbaijan which you must visit.

The Gakh Central Mosque is a historic mosque located in the town of Gakh in Azerbaijan. Built in the 18th century, the mosque was designed in the traditional Azerbaijani style of Islamic architecture and comprises a large prayer hall, and dome with four minarets. The mosque's interior contains intricate decoration in the form of colored tiles, engraved stucco, and Islamic calligraphy. The mosque is surrounded by a large courtyard enclosed by a stone wall, and the main entrance is decorated with a low-relief carving of traditional Azerbaijani motifs. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
