St. Joseph on Kahlenberg is a 19th-century Catholic pilgrimage church located on the Kahlenberg Mountain near Vienna, Austria. The architect Franz Anton Pilgram completed construction of the church in 1747 and it has been affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna since 1912. The pilgrimage site is associated with numerous legends and is the home of the patron saint of Austria, St. Joseph. It is one of the best churches in Austria which you must visit.

St. Joseph on Kahlenberg was built as a pilgrimage church in honor of St. Joseph, the patron saint of Austria. The original plans for the church were created in 1689 and the foundation stone was laid in 1743. The final construction was completed in 1747 under the guidance of the architect Franz Anton Pilgram. The renovation of the church was initiated due to decay in the 19th century and was conducted by Franz v. Preradovič and his son Karl (1890-99). This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Austria.

St. Joseph on Kahlenberg sits at an elevation of 1,300 feet (400 meters) and offers spectacular views of the city of Vienna. The architecture of the church typically contains two flanking towers that are topped by Baroque cupolas, a rose window, and a crenelated belfry. Inside the church, visitors can view the Baroque sculptures of St. Joseph, Mary, the Twelve Apostles, and the Four Evangelists all carved by the Italian sculptor Tommaso Gherardi.
