Kapuzinerberg Stations of the Cross is a unique and beautiful set of stations, located right in the heart of Salzburg, Austria. It is a major pilgrimage site, due to its importance in the Catholic religion and the city's deep ties to it. The Kapuzinerberg Stations of the Cross is a series of 14 depictions related to the traditional Way of the Cross, offering a vivid insight into the suffering of Christ. Rebuilt between 1759 and 1766, the sculptures were carved according to the plans of Italian artist Gehrick, using marble and gypsum. Each station is considered a spiritual milestone for pilgrims, who can also admire the Baroque-style building in which the stations are located, before climbing up the stairs to the top of the Kapuzinerberg hill. From there, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city and its surrounding region.
