St. Paul the Apostle Parish is a Roman Catholic parish located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The parish was founded in 1867 and is the oldest continuously existing Catholic parish in the city of New Orleans. It is named after the Apostle Paul, who was responsible for establishing many of the first Christian churches in Europe. The parish serves a diverse population of over 5,000 parishioners, including residents of the nearby Uptown and Carrollton neighbourhoods. History:

The parish was established in 1867 by Father Jean J. Janssen, the successor to Father Antoine Blanc, who had begun serving the needs of the Catholics in the area in 1834. Father Janssen purchased a large plot of land from wealthy plantation owner William E. Mason in 1868, and the land was used as the site for the new church. The cornerstone for the church building was laid in 1871, and the church was dedicated on April 8, 1872. The original church building was destroyed in a fire in 1899 and replaced with a larger church building in 1900. A new school was also constructed in 1900, and the parish continued to grow and expand over the years.
