Parish Nuestra Señora de Balvanera is a Roman Catholic parish located in the Balvanera neighborhood of Buenos Aires City, Argentina. Founded in 1838 by Bishop Luis María de Villar, it has served the community ever since. The parish has developed a close relationship with the many non-government organizations and institutions present in the neighborhood, working together to promote the well-being of the community in all its aspects. Its current rector is Rev. Padre Alfredo Cabalin. It is one of the best churches in Argentina which you must visit.

History:

The original Church of Nuestra Señora de Balvanera was constructed by Bishop Villar in 1838 and inaugurated in 1841 as the Parish of Our Lady of Balvanera. At the time, the parish was considered one of the main churches in the city of Buenos Aires, along with the Metropolitan Cathedral and the San Miguel church. In 1904 a new church was built on the same site and consecrated in 1909. The current building is the work of architect Juan-Carlos Saldaño and is considered one of the most significant examples of his work. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Argentina.
