History:

Vallnord Ski Resort is a major ski resort in the Principality of Andorra, located in the parish of La Massana. The resort was developed in 2003 to provide both skiing and snowboarding to locals and visitors of Andorra. The history of the resort began in 1988 when Grandvalira, a group of hotels and ski resorts, first opened their ski area on the slopes of Ransol and Arinsal. The two resorts were then combined in 2003 to form Vallnord Pal-Arinsal Ski Resort. The resort has been developed and improved upon since its establishment, and currently consists of 3 ski sectors: Arinsal, Pal, and Arcalis. Arinsal offers plenty of beginner and intermediate skiing with areas suitable for all levels. Pal offers more advanced skiing with a wide range of mogul fields, terrain parks, and powder-snow runs. In recent years, Vallnord has continued to expand, constructing new ski lifts, accommodations, and modernizing other facilities, and now forms part of the Grandvalira ski domain. The recent investments in the resort have allowed it to become an important center for mountain sports in Andorra. In 2021, Vallnord will receive substantial investment to further modernize and expand the resort.
