History:

Casa Rull, a building located in Sispony, a parish in Andorra, was built in the 19th century by the architect Salvador Rull. At the time, there were no large or sizeable urban settlements in this area, so the building was built up during this period as a small rural dwelling. It was extended in the early 20th century by the same architect, creating the two wings of the house that still exist today. The building was used until the 1950s as a farmhouse and residential home by different families that moved in and out as is typical of countryside dwellings of this period. In the 1950s, Casa Rull was purchased by the Rull family who decided to transform it from a rural to urban dwelling. The family hired a local architect to make the necessary changes, and for the next two decades the building saw several significant changes to its structure. A large porch and garden were added at the back, bathrooms and kitchen were upgraded, and the windows and entrance hall were also changed at this time. In the 1970s, Casa Rull became a cultural centre and refurbishments of the main house and annex were carried out to make it more suitable for this purpose. Various galleries, a theatre and cafe were added during this period. Today, Casa Rull is a popular hub for culture, art and entertainment, and attracts visitors from all over Andorra and beyond.
