History:

Located in Vallnord Arinsal ski resort in the Principality of Andorra, the Vallnord Arinsal Snowpark has been the go-to destination for passionate freestylers since it opened in 2003. With a huge variety of rails, boxes, bonks, jibs, kickers, and other obstacles, it has become firmly established as one of the most sought-after snowparks in Europe. The beginning of the Snowpark goes back as far as the early 1980s when ski instructor and passionate freestyler Mercedes Castillo was working at the ski school in La Massana. Thanks to her enthusiasm, passion, and teaching experience she organised the first “Park” in 1992 with a variety of tables, banks, kickers, and an avalanche protection. Later on, more features were added to further improve the safety levels. The park was originally converted into a snowpark when, in 2010, it underwent a complete redesign and rebuild making it one of the safest in the world. Since then, the snowpark has developed into an impressive four-area setup, encompassed by a double dark post line, medium tier line, jib park, and an airbag line. This airbag line is the third one in Europe and the most general in the Pyrenees due to its immense size and the compatibility of its rails and structures. These factors combined with the amazing freestyle quality; dynamic music, and passionate team of habitués make the snowpark one of the most exciting places in the world to practice this sport.
