Kisha e Globocenit is an Albanian NGO established in 2004. It is the leading provider of legal assistance and life skills support, empowering disadvantaged individuals and empowering communities in need. The organization focuses on improving access to justice and advocating for women's rights and equality. It provides legal services to those living in post-conflict and vulnerable communities, especially women and refugees. It also works to increase the awareness of human rights and to promote a culture of non-violence, tolerance and understanding. Kisha e Globocenit History Kisha e Globocenit (KGLT) was established in 2004 in Tirana, Albania, through the initiative of two individuals, Aida Rugova and Bojken Abazia. KGLT emerged as a structured NGO with a mission to support social inclusion and empower disadvantaged individuals. KGLT strives to strengthen the life skills of the most vulnerable groups in society, to ensure their wellbeing and social integration, and to promote the just rule of law in Albania. As a result of its community-based support and advocacy, KGLT has achieved significant results in protecting the rights of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable women in Albania. Kisha e Globocenit Facts KGLT has aided over 12,000 individuals, including women and children, since its inception. It offers services such as legal aid, psychological and social counseling, educational activities, and community events. It also works closely with the government, international partners, and the humanitarian and development sector in Albania. Kisha e Globocenit Services KGLT aids individuals in need through the following services: • Legal Aid: KGLT provides advice, advocacy, training and representation in civil and criminal matters. • Social and Psychological Care: KGLT provides counseling, psychotherapy and social work support, with a focus on victims of violence and discrimination. • Educational Activities: KGLT provides tutoring services to disadvantaged individuals, as well as workshops and classes on rights and gender, nonviolence, and tolerance. • Community Events: KGLT organizes community activities, such as cultural and sport events, for the purpose of building civic engagement and promoting dialogue. • Networking and Advocacy: KGLT strengthens its impact by networking with government institutions and NGOs, and mobilizing civil society to advocate for the rights of individuals in need.
