The church is believed to have been built between the 12th and 13th centuries, and is the only remaining Romanesque church in the parish of Lystrup. The church is characterized by a monumental tower, standing at more than 25 meters in height. It is made up of two floors, the bottom being an octagon and the top being a square with semi-circles at each corner. The entrance to the church is located in the tower, which can be accessed using a single door on the western side. The interior of the church is made up of a nave flanked with two aisles. The nave is separated from the aisles by a combination of pointed and round arches. The main entrance opens into the nave, which concludes with an apse and a semi-circular altar.
