History:
The National Christian Centre (NCC) Abuja is a multi-purpose facility comprising of a conference hall, an auditorium, a museum, and a library. It is located in Maitama District, Abuja, Nigeria, and is owned and managed by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The National Christian Centre was dedicated on July 3, 1996 by former President, General Sani Abacha, in a ceremony attended by then-US President Bill Clinton and other dignitaries. The centre is a national symbol of the Christian faith and is designed to reflect the predominance of the Christian faith in Nigeria (almost half of the population is Christian). The centre serves as an events venue and houses a library with a collection of Christian materials related to theology, education, and cultural heritage. The NCC has become a showcase for Christian fellowship and enlightenment initiatives in Nigeria. It is host to the annual National Christian Worship Forum which brings together prominent and grassroot religious leaders from all denominational affiliations.
