Worship Method:
Banruo Temple (Changchun) is one of the most important Buddhist temples in northeast China. Worshiping in this temple is based on the traditional Chinese religion (also known as the Way of the Five Pecks of Rice). The process of worship usually begins with the chanting of sutras, followed by offerings of incense and candles. After that, participants make circumambulations of the main Buddha hall three times, while bowing and chanting their wishes. There may also be offerings of fruits and flowers, and requests for blessings from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. After the ceremony is finished, devotees often leave with some of the donated references or scriptures. The main building of Banruo Temple features three grand Buddhas, Maitreya, Amitabha and Sakyamuni, each seated amidst a wealth of gold.
