History:

Vorontsov Palace was originally built for Prince Grigory Vorontsov, Russian Viceroy of the Caucasus who governed between 1844 and 1854. Prince Vorontsov’s daughter, Princess Alexandra, inherited the palace after her father’s death and lived there until the beginning of the 20th century. After the Russian Revolution in 1917, the palace was taken over by the state. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Russia.
