Arkhangelskoye Estate is one of the oldest estates in Moscow Oblast, located in the upper reaches of the Moskva River near Moscow. It was originally built in 1690 by Boris Golicyn on orders from Peter the Great and was later bought by Catherine the Great. It was then developed further in 1809-1814 by a group of prominent architects and engineers, including Matvei Kazakov, for Alexander I. The estate, which became the home of the Russian Imperial family, consists of 4 main parts - the main house, the park, the outbuildings, and the gardens. History:

Dating back to 1690, the Arkhangelskoye estate was originally built by Peter the Great's orders to be home to Boris Golitsyn, a Russian general. The estate later passed through different hands, including being owned by Catherine the Great in 1781. From 1809 to 1814, the estate was further developed by architects and engineers, commissioned by Alexander I.
