History:

Ulriksdal Palace is a former royal residence located in Solna Municipality, Sweden. The palace was built in the 1660s by Queen Eleonora, wife of King Charles X Gustav. The palace was later expanded and renovated by King Charles XI in the 1680s. It was rented out by the royal family in the latter part of the nineteenth century, and in 1912 it was bought by the municipality of Solna and used as a hospital. It is currently owned and operated by the Swedish National Property Board, and is open to the public as a museum. The museum features a variety of permanent and temporary exhibits, from furniture to paintings. Visitors can also take part in a variety of activities such as guided tours of the palace grounds and its architecture and gardens.
