Pyramid of Khentkaus I is the mortuary complex,of the earliest queens of ancient Egypt located at Giza in Egypt.The complex was built during the reign of Pharaoh Menkaure who succeeded Khafre as the king of the 4th Dynasty in the Old Kingdom.The Pyramid of Khentkaus I is one of the three pyramids located Giza.The complex is made up of a pyramid, a mortuary temple, a valley temple,and a causeway. The pyramid includes an underground burial chamber and five chambers on the upper levels. which are connected by a series of passageways.The mortuary temple contains several statues of Khentkaus I, as well as several of her courtiers.The Valley Temple is connected to the mortuary temple by an underground passageway. History:

The Pyramid of Khentkaus I is located in the necropolis of Giza in Egypt. This pyramid was built during the 5th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. It was commissioned by Pharaoh Khentkaus I, the daughter of Pharaoh Menkaure, the builder of the third pyramid of Giza. The Pyramid of Khentkaus I is the smallest pyramid at Giza and is made of limestone blocks with a core of mud bricks. It was intended to be a symbolic representation of her mother's, Queen Khentkaus II's, tomb, as a form of honor and filial devotion. The main entrance is located at the east side of the pyramid and leads into the largest chamber, which is situated beneath the pyramid’s peak. This chamber has an open courtyard, a central stairwell and six small rooms along the walls. The pyramid is believed to have been decorated largely with scenes of religious import, such as the goddess Hathor and gods of the four cardinal directions. It also features dedicatory inscriptions to Khentkaus I, showing her titles and virtues. The Pyramid of Khentkaus I is also believed to have been the first pyramid in Egypt to feature a Pharaonic name. The Pyramid of Khentkaus I is thought to have been built around 2460 BC, and is the oldest pyramid in the Giza necropolis and in Egypt. Its age and relative size makes it an important archeological find, and it has been speculated that it could contain more texts or other relics.
