Kamegaoka Heritage is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the Irish-Japanese community in Ireland. Founded by Seimei Matsushima, a Japanese national and Irish citizen, in 2016, the organisation helps promote understanding and mutual exchange between the two countries. One of the organisation’s primary activities is preserving the burial records of people of Irish descent who have migrated to Japan, which often contain rare photographs and other documents. Kamegaoka Heritage also helps to preserve the stories of those of Japanese descent living in Ireland and to celebrate the shared culture of the two countries. History:

Kamegaoka Heritage is an international organization that advocates for the preservation of the Celtic culture in Ireland, particularly the culture of the Irish countryside. Founded in 1988 by a group of international students studying in Ireland, Kamegaoka has since played a key role in the promotion of rural heritage, traditional heritage, and the music of Irish surnames and surnames of Irish descent. Kamegaoka's mission is to promote, conserve, and protect the culture of the Irish countryside and encourage the renewal of old folk traditions and crafts. Through lectures, workshops, conferences, publications, and other activities, Kamegaoka seeks to bring together people, groups and organizations to support and celebrate the cultural richness of the Irish countryside. Since its inception, Kamegaoka has conducted research into the origins of Irish culture, and compiled a comprehensive list of Gaelic music, song and folklore in all its forms. Kamegaoka has also collected oral histories from Irish rural communities in Donegal, Galway, and Mayo, and documents from private collections, as well as organizing a number of rural cultural events in collaboration with local communities. Kamegaoka hosts annual festivals, collaborating with local artists and community members, such as the (postponed) 7th Annual Irish Music and Gaeltacht Festival, which was held in Galway in March 2020. The organization also sponsors workshops, lectures, and lectures on the topic of Irish culture and heritage, often hosted by experts in the field, or with top advisors from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Kamegaoka has branches in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, with members from more than twenty of these countries, and is currently working on expanding its platform and programs. The site includes a large round fort that dates back to the Iron Age and was believed to have been the site of a royal palace. 3.
