History:

The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club was founded in November 1983 and was the first polo club in the UAE. Although the game of Polo was played in Dubai prior to establishment of the Club, it gathered pace after the formation of the Club. The Club was the brainchild of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, the former Ruler of Dubai. The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club is one of the finest polo clubs in the Middle East and is located in a 125-acre estate on the outskirts of the city. The club has a capacity for up to 200 horses. Today, the club hosts some of the world’s best polo tournaments such as the prestigious Sheikh Maktoum Gold Cup and the HH The President Cup. In addition to Polo, the club also provides facilities for other equestrian disciplines such as dressage, show leaping, show jumping, endurance riding and equitation.
