Gypjak Mosque is a historical Mosque in the city of Ashgabat in Turkmenistan. It was originally built in the late 18th century and is still an important religious and cultural site. According to tradition, the Mosque was originally built by an individual named Gypjak who was strongly devoted to the Islamic faith. Although this is now disputed, it is generally accepted that Gypjak was one of the earliest converts to Islam among the Turkmen living in the area. In the mid-19th century, the Mosque was destroyed by a Russian military force during the Russian conquest of Central Asia. After the Russian conquest, the Mosque was rebuilt in 1887 by a charitable foundation in Ashgabat.
