The worship method used by Wat Sema Muang in Thailand is a combination of Theravada Buddhism and animistic beliefs. In Wat Sema Muang, the ancient tradition of worship with prayer and offerings is still preserved. Worshippers begin by offering incense to the main shrine and then praying the basic chant at the shrine. Then, offerings such as food, fruits, and candles are presented. Prayers are followed by chanting of Buddhist scriptures and Buddhist mantras, accompanied by musical instruments such as drums and cymbals. Then, devotees circumambulate the temple three times in a clockwise direction, while chanting and making offerings to the main statue of Buddha.
