The worship method of Muthupettai Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple is based on Shaivism. The temple follows the Agama rituals and performs several pujas throughout the day. Sri Kothandarama Swami is the principal deity and is worshipped with several offerings such as Dakshina, flowers, incense sticks, sacred thread, Naivedya and Kohl.
