SPM was founded in 1957 by the Rev. Fritz Schavotter, a German immigrant to Switzerland, who wanted to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Swiss-German language. The first SPM church was officially established in February of that year. Since then, the work of SPM has grown and flourished. Today, SPM has churches and mission stations throughout Switzerland, from Pfäffikon in the east to Löhningen in the west. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Switzerland.
