Chiesa di San Rocco is a Roman Catholic church located in Lugano, Switzerland. Built in the 17th century, it is dedicated to Saint Rocco, the Patron Saint of the Diseased. The building is located near the old town centre of Lugano and is its only baroque church. It is famous for its ornate decorations, including a number of frescoes by local artist Giovanni Maria Bottalla (1667-1723). These frescoes tell stories from the life of St Rocco and the history of Lugano. The church also contains a painting by 17th-century Italian artist Carlo Crivelli. The architecture of the building is typical of late Baroque style and features an impressive two-storey loggia as well as an impressive portico entrance. The church is open to visitors throughout the week and serves a number of services including religious services, weddings, and funerals.
