The worship method of Vaddukoddai Sivan Temple, Visaladchi Visvesar, Verrapathirar, Sri Lanka is conducted according to the agamas or standard procedures. During puja (worship) offerings such as flowers, lamps, sandalwood, incense, and food items are made to the deity. Abhishekas (consecration ritual) are performed regularly, and mantras and stotrams are chanted during the ritual. The idol of Lord Siva is decorated with flowers and kumkum, and the priest performs the Puja. After the Puja aarti is performed. Devotees offer prayers to Lord Siva by singing devotional songs, and make offerings of fruits, flowers, incense, and sweets/ milk as part of the ritual.
