The Palaly Raja Rajeswari Amman Temple located at Palaly East, Palaly in Sri Lanka is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Raja Rajeswari. It is believed that the temple was built in the 10th century during the Chola Dynasty which ruled Sri Lanka from 1017 to 1070 AD. The temple is believed to have been built by the Chola kings who conquered the island of Sri Lanka in 993 AD. The temple was subsequently added to and improved over the years.
