At the Kottu Vassal Amman Temple, traditional Hindu worship practices are followed. People offer prayers to Amman, the goddess of fertility, by lighting lamps, chanting mantras, and making offerings of flowers, fruits, and rice. People also perform rituals of respect and devotion to the goddess such as circumambulation of the temple and archaka prayers. In addition, they practice pradakshina (circumambulation) around the temple and ring a bell while they are doing it.
