It is part of the World Communion of Reformed Churches and formed in 2009, as a result of the merging of two former congregations, The Christian Reformed Church in Madrid and the Vesperalle of Rebland. It was founded in 1974 by the Christian Reformed Church in Madrid and the Vesperalle of Rebland. The Church seeks to be a place of connection and friendship between people from different cultures and backgrounds living in Madrid. In its mission, the Church states: “we want to be a community centered in Jesus Christ, that takes seriously the challenges of its evangelical message in today’s world.” History The Evangelical Christian Church Chamartin was founded in 1974 by the Christian Reformed Church in Madrid and the Vesperalle of Rebland. At the time it was under the directorship of the Rev. Dr. Th. Mulder, whose vision to bring together the members of the two congregations started the process that led to the formation of the new Church.
