The Redemed Christian Church of God In Sierra-Leone: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The RCCG in Sierra Leone has roots dating back to late 1990, when Evangelist Segun Adetokunbo, a Sierra Leonean staff member of the RCCG’s Redemption Camp in Nigeria, started preaching the gospel on the streets of Freetown. From these humble beginnings, the church grew to become a strong and vibrant Christian community that spread quickly across the country. In 2004, the Redeemed Christian Church of God Sierra Leone was inaugurated in Freetown with Rev. J. A. Adeleke as the National Overseer. Rev. Adeleke was later succeeded by pastor Lawrence Amara who has served as National Overseer since 2007. Today, the RCCG Sierra Leone has over 200 parishes across the country, including the growing Student Fellowship. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Sierra-Leone.
