The mosque is renowned for its architecture, as its structure is a grand combination of marble, wood, and ornamental drawings, giving an inclination toward the Mamluk style. It was renewed and expanded by Sultan Abdul Majid in the 19th century AH. The courtyard of the mosque was also renovated by King Fahd bin Abdulaziz in the 20th century AH, with the expansion of its area reaching four times its previous size. Masjid al-Wasl is a large mosque located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is one of the oldest mosques in Jeddah and is thus considered a historical site. The mosque is built in the Ottoman style of architecture with beautiful courtyards, four stately minarets, and two grand entrances. The construction of the mosque began in 1925 and was completed in 1940. The mosque is surrounded by four large minarets that are 44 meters high and are built with white marble. On the four sides of the masjid's courtyard, there are tall arches with three arched entrances leading to the east, west, and north sides. The interior is decorated with ornate artwork and marble columns and walls with intricate geometric designs and geometric lines. Much of the interior is covered with large carpets which are used for prayer and recitation of the Quran. At the center of the mosque lies a large dome that is built with gorgeous mosaics and painted with vibrant colors giving it a beautiful, heavenly look. Inside the mosque is a pulpit or mihrab which is the focal point for prayer and is placed directly in front of the entrance. The grand courtyard of the mosque is surrounded by covered galleries of arcades and a garden which is used for prayer and relaxation.
