St Symphorian's Church in Durrington, Wiltshire is a 12th century Church of England church that is Grade I listed. The Church is mostly Norman, with additions made in the 15th, 17th and 19th centuries. The stone tower was built in 1760 and the spire, added in 1805. The church is dedicated to St Symphorian, a child martyr who died c. 300. Inside, the church has a Tudor chancel and some medieval carvings. The church is known to be in use as far back as 1142, and its first recorded vicar was appointed in 1250. In the 19th century, the chancel was painted, and a new organ was installed in 1901. The Church also houses a 15th century carved wooden statue of St Michael, a 12th century stone font, and a 14th century bronze bell. The Church holds regular Sunday services and is a popular venue for christenings, weddings and funerals. There is a Remembrance Day service each year, as well as special services such as Advent, Christmas, Easter and Ascension Day. Church social events and events with other denominations in the village also take place. Church members have developed a thriving parish magazine, which includes news, views and sections for children.
