Wat Phukhao Kaeo is a historic temple in Bangkok, Thailand. The temple was constructed during the reign of King Rama I in 1782, who gave it the name Wat Phukhao Kaeo, which means Crystal Mountain Temple. It stands on a small hill to the east of Rattanakosin Island, near Sanam Luang and the Grand Palace of Bangkok. The temple is characterized by its unique roof style with nine upswept points that resemble mountains. The interior of the temple houses a large collection of Buddha images, beautiful murals, and other relics from the Ayutthaya period. It also contains a sacred image of Buddha, which was a gift from King Rama IV. Wat Phukhao Kaeo is an important religious site for Thai Buddhists and a popular tourist attraction in Bangkok.
