Discover - Wat Muen Phuttha Metta Khunaram - Fact, History and Travel Information
Wat Muen Phuttha Metta Khunaram (Wat Muen) is a unique temple located in the Chonburi province of Thailand. It is famous for being home to the extraordinary mummified monk, Luang Phor Pian, and revered as a major pilgrimage site. Wat Muen is a striking example of Khmer style architecture, and its entrance is guarded by two giant Khmer-style statues of the Hindu god, Garuda. Inside, the temple grounds are beautifully decorated with colorful murals, sculptures and religious symbols. The highlight of the temple, however, is the mummified monk, Luang Phor Pian. Thousands of locals and international visitors come each year to pay reverence to him and draw inspiration from his meditative state even after his passing.
