The Phu Pha Lom Forest Park magnificently stretches along the Mun River, covering 758 hectares of mountains and cliffs. The terrain ranges from flat to steep slopes, with a variety of vegetation including moist evergreen forests, dry dipterocarp forests and savannah. This includes tantalizing rocky outcrops, towering limestone cliffs, and islets that add beauty to the breathtaking scenery.
Facts:

The area is home to numerous species of wildlife, such as gibbon, dusky langur, Asiatic jackal, various types of deer, and bearcats. Birdwatchers can also catch sight of over 270 bird species, including rare species like the mountain scops owl and orange-necked partridge.
History:

The park was established in March 1997 on an area of 758 hectares, spread over Udon Thani and Nong Khai provinces. It was first declared by Thao Suranari, in order to preserve the abundant natural resources in the region.

A few tourist attractions are situated in the vicinity of the park, such as the Phu Pha Lom Cave and the Chalong Waterfall. The Visitor’s Center can assist visitors with trekking and camping equipment. Accommodation is available, either near the park or in the city.
