The palace is set on a hill top, surrounded by walls and covered in foliage. The main entrance is through the magnificent golden gates and the grounds are lined with beautiful lotus ponds and gardens. Inside, the palace is an impressive display of royal Thai architecture, with many royal pavilions and rare artifacts dating back to the time of King Rama I. Chao Luang Phukha Palace
Facts:
The palace is made up of three main buildings: The Pavilion of the Lord, The Pavilion of Lords and The Pavilion of Graciousness, as well as numerous surrounding gardens, courtyards and pavilions. The Pavilion of the Lord was built in the late 19th century and is used for royal ceremonies. The Pavilion of Lords is a two story pavilion which once served as the palace kitchen. The Pavilion of Graciousness is a single story pavilion constructed by King Rama VI in 1938. Chao Luang Phukha Palace
History:
The palace has been the residence of the Thai royalty for many generations and has hosted a number of important occasions and ceremonies, including the coronation of several kings. It also has associations with the legendary Princess of Phuket, who was said to have been born within the palace walls. Chao Luang Phukha Palace

The palace is open to the public and makes an interesting and unique tourist destination. The palace grounds have a number of walking paths and pavilions, as well as a museum, which visitors may explore at their leisure.
