Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Catholic Church was founded in January 1992 by a group of Filipino Orthodox faithful. The Church was first led by Archbishop and founder His Eminence Metropolitan Flavianos, who was under the omophorion of Patriarch His Beatitude Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church. The Church was originally a branch of the Syriac Orthodox Church, until it became autocephalous in 1996. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Philippines.
