The United Evangelical Church of the Philippines (UECP) is a member of the World Council of Churches, National Council of Churches in the Philippines and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. It is composed of Reformed, Presbyterian, and Congregational churches, and began in 1996 as the result of a merger between the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) and the Evangelical Church of the Philippines (ECP). History The United Church of Christ in the Philippines was formed in 1948 through the merger of nine Protestant denominations. These included the General Council of Congregational Churches, the United Evangelical Church of the East, the General Baptist Church, the United Brethren in Christ, the Mennonite Brethren, and the United Presbyterian Church in the Philippines. The Evangelical Church of the Philippines was formed in 1964 through the consolidation of four Presbyterian denominations, the Christian Mission Church in the Philippines, the Presbyterian Church of the East, the Philippine Independent Church, and the Church of the Lord in the Philippines.
