Kidane Mehret Church is an Ethiopian Orthodox church in Palestine. It has a long and fascinating history, stretching back to the 4th century AD when four monks representing the Nine Saints of Ethiopia arrived in Palestine. It is believed that their mission was to preach the gospel of Christ and to spread Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity. The church was built in 1187 by the Ethiopian ruler King Lalibela in memory of the Nine Saints who died defending the faith.
