Al Wizarat North Mosque in Oman is a historical monument which dates back to the early 19th century. It is located in Al-Wizarat region close to the center of Muscat, the capital of Oman. The mosque is built on an ancient site which is believed to have been used for worship by the believers of Islam since its inception. The mosque was founded by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Al-Said in 1975. It was built in traditional Omani architectural style and is noted for its beautiful interior and exterior decoration. The mosque is characterized by a two-minaret facades, a main gate, and a spacious enclosed courtyard. The entrance and courtyard are built in the terraced-style of Islamic architecture, with arches and a muqarnas or decorative dome. The prayer hall is a large square-shaped room with four corners and a dome ceiling, decorated with geometric and floral patterns. The interior walls and ceilings are covered in intricate plasterwork. The mosque also features a beautiful calligraphic mural on the ceiling, which reads the opening verse of the Quran in Kufic script. The visiting hours of Al Wizarat North Mosque in Oman are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
