It was renamed after the former sultan of Oman, Bahá' Al-Saifi, who was also a patron of the mosque. The mosque underwent a major renovation in 1985 and it is now known as one of the most impressive structures in Oman. The mosque is a magnificent structure that features a large courtyard, two minarets, and a main prayer space. It is adorned with several intricate works of carved stone and marble, as well as several decorative stained glass windows.
