: Al Rawdah Central South Mosque in Oman was built in 2004 and is one of the few remaining central mosques in the country. It is the largest mosque in Oman covering an area of 8800 m2 and can accommodate up to 8500 worshipers in the main prayer hall. The mosque has a monumental minaret measuring 72m from the base to the top and featuring a unique Islamic architecture. Inside the mosque, a beautiful main prayer hall forms the center piece. The qibla wall facing Makkah has 4 domes for call to prayers. In addition, there are 7 extra prayer halls for women and 7 ablution areas. There are also several lecture halls and a library, which contain books on Islamic studies and other educational matters. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The Al Rawdah Central South Mosque is a large imposing building located in the capital city of Oman. It was constructed in the year 2004 and has quickly become a landmark in the city. Its architecture is characterized by its stunning Moroccan-style arches, domed cupolas, and intricate stonework. The building stands two stories tall, with the upper levels containing courtyards, conference halls, and a grand prayer hall. Adorning the mosques exterior is a intricate stonework pattern of interlocking geometric shapes, and the main entrance is surrounded by several grand arches. Inside, the mosque provides a large prayer hall with a large gold dome at its center and a richly decorated minbar. Between the two stories is a beautiful mehrab (prayer niche) and several smaller chambers. The mosque also possess a large garden and pond which is often used for outdoor functions and gatherings. Visiting Hours:
Al Rawdah Central South Mosque is open daily for visitors from 8:00am until 10:30pm. The mosque is closed during Eid and some other Muslim holidays, and is usually restricted to Muslims only during prayers. Visitors are not allowed to enter while prayers are taking place.
